Born and raised in Northern and Southern California, Cynthia now stands to complete her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Education, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience. Currently, she is collaborating with UC San Diego Health’s Senior Behavioral Unit as they study sensory plasticity, aging, neuro-inflammation, and paternal behavior. Her love of academia, and her dedication to creating a healing environment, has steered Cynthia to further her education by attending a Doctor of Psychology in Counseling Psychology program next Fall. With this education, she hopes to assist unaccompanied and emancipated youth as they process past traumas and resurface their resilience. In her free, Cynthia enjoys taking walks and bike rides with her fiancé and children, playing volleyball, recreationally, with her extended family, and competitively with UC Riverside’s Club team. Cynthia is grateful and excited to further her experience in the field of mental health, and for the learning opportunities AToN Center has in store for her.
