The younger generation of Britain’s Royal Family is coming together in an effort to decrease stigma around mental health concerns. In a family where image is everything, Prince Harry has put activism ahead of royal decorum by coming forward to share about his own personal struggles with grief and mental health.
He opens up about his suffering after the loss of his mother Princess Diana, how he tried to avoid his emotions, and how his brother finally encouraged him to seek help. We’re glad Harry got the support he needed and that he is using his own story to help empower us regular folks.
If you’re suffering from the effects of trauma, substance use, or other concerns, people are available to help. If a member of the royal family can admit he needed treatment and couldn’t solve his problems alone, don’t let stigma stop you!
